Letter: Pseudo-science about having real control

In response to Kelly Anspaugh's letter, “Global warming real, blah, blah, blah,” we find ourselves again being misled. Only arrogance would assume that man has the ability to irrevocably do something to the atmosphere. Does anyone understand how huge of a space our atmosphere is? Of course not.

Pseudo-scientists do not want you to understand or be able to put into context what they are talking about. It turns out that the atmosphere has a volume of 51 billion cubic kilometers. The amount, in volume, of all the dreaded greenhouse gases? Not to be found. Oh, there are data of how much weight, how many parts per million and billion, but no data to compare apples to apples. Why is that? Because then people would see that the amount is truly insignificant. Is it any wonder that some have been caught falsifying their data and or results? Perpetuation of the lie.

Of course to Anspaugh, what drives the “denialist” movement is also what fuels these pseudo-scientists. They don't work for free. Their equipment isn't free. Travel to and from Antarctica isn't free. They are bought and sold like so much chattel just like any politician. Who foots the bill? People looking for power. People looking to make you fear every little thing in life so much that you have no choice but to put all your belief in them and in what they say and do. Once you let them, then they have what they want.

Is it getting warmer? Possibly. We are still coming out of an ice age. Is it man's fault? Definitely not.
