Letter: Insults, pollution and drill, baby, drill
In regard to Robert “Bo” Huenke's Jan. 20 letter against fracking, I grew up in Carrollton, in Carroll County, and have many relatives there. They are happy with the oil and natural gas companies doing the fracking and oil drilling in Carroll County. Fracking has brought many jobs and money to the county.
And as for the minor earthquakes felt in Eastern Ohio blamed on fracking, I don't take a lot of stock in the opinion of some professor from Columbia University in New York City coming to Ohio and telling us why we had an earthquake.
You liberal, tree-hugging Democrats can keep putting up your wind turbines and solar panels that you need to buy most of the parts from China and get federal government subsidies for. A good example is Solyndra, which worked out really well for the U.S. taxpayers.
I think it is time we drill and drill more in the United States and get out of depending on Middle Eastern oil. I'm sick and tired of losing American military lives in the Middle East because tree-hugging liberal Democrats don't want to drill in the U.S.
Also there is a lot worse pollution in this area where there is no fracking. Why is Grand Lake polluted and why does Putnam County have one of highest rates of breast cancer in the region? Could it be from farm pesticides and pollution?
