Letter: Religious beliefs shape culture wars
Whether it's evolution, abortion, homosexuality, Islam or any other hot-button topic, what you believe determines who your God really is.
For those who believe every word of the Bible, as written in its original form or translated from its original documents, they believe it “is given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16) and is nothing but truth (John 17:17). They also believe “You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you”(Deuteronomy 4:2).
My point is that there will always be hot-button topics, and whatever side you take will always show who you believe is God. So the most important question is not what side to take, but who your God is.
