BILL FOCHTSpencervilleIn response to Amy Bonfiglio’s letter, dated Dec. 1 (“Many reasons to thank veterans”): I retired from the Army after 22 years. I served in Vietnam two tours from 1967/1968 through the Tet Offensive and 1970/1971. I have seen many of our elected officials turn on veterans then and am beginning to see the same today, news included. I am very proud of so many young people like yourself who are beginning to think for themselves and not following a bunch of politicians and academics in their self-serving narrowness. Keep up the good work. You and all the young people can make a difference. God bless you all.
