I am writing about my sister, Jacqueline Tyre, whom I have seen work extremely hard to persuade minorities to apply for different jobs and training throughout the city. I’ve seen her for the last several years try to assist them in improving their education and take advantage of what’s available to our community.

She’s worked in every direction. She’s even tried to help one of my sons gain employment, but he’s never taken advantage of any of the opportunities.

I’m sorry she used the N-word as an expression of her frustration, but I believe she dearly apologized. The underemployed need our support and this bickering will not accomplish anything but build more walls. It is time for minorities to have jobs and equal opportunities to enhance our families’ welfare.
