Tip of hat to
UAW-CAP Council
As an officer of the Lima β Troy Area UAW β CAP Council, I would like to thank all the other officers and members of the Council for their efforts in bringing President Barack Obama to Lima. A special thank you and tip of the hat goes out to John Paradore for all his efforts and especially for a great presidential introduction. The visit was not only a great day for the community, but a great day for labor and all the efforts that they put in every day to enhance and grow the middle class.
We laid the ground work for the Obama visit by packing the union hall for former Gov. Ted Strickland a few weeks ago and then again recently for U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown. With these visits we proved to the national leadership of the UAW and the National Democratic Party that even in a rabidly conservative area like Limaland, many thousands of people will gather here when a great progressive politician comes to town, especially when itβs the leader of the free world. Once again thanks, to all of you in the Council, for a job well done.
