Thank you Gov. John Kasich.Thank you for taking away the penalties that the mother had been charged with for registering her children from an address that was not hers.My mother did the same thing in the 1930s. We lived half a block from the main highway. Two girls lived a half block farther down, just across the township line. So each day, they walked the one block to the main highway and caught the bus to the township school. We walked one mile and a quarter to the city school. So in the fifth grade, my mother started us to school from my grandmother's house in the township. In a few weeks, the school realized that really we were catching the bus from where we really lived. They informed my mother that we had to transfer to the city schools. Which we did.My mother had simply wanted us to have an easier way to get to school, as we didn't have mittens or boots. Schools have become rule-driven instead of compassionate. Thank you so much!
