On June 21, I found my wife slumped over in her chair. I immediately called 911 for help. The dispatchers did a great job of sending that help. First to arrive were three Lima police officers. As they were starting to help, two Lima fire trucks arrived with firefighters/paramedics, and the firefighters took over care. Lastly, but still very quick, was the MedCorp crew who then started care. When the MedCorp crew left with my wife, some firefighters rode with them to the hospital. At the same time, other firefighters stayed with me to make sure I had things in order at home before going to the hospital, including making sure I had my keys, phone and locked the house. Then the Police Department drove me to the hospital to make sure I got there safely and quickly. At the hospital, the Lima Fire Department stayed with me until some family was able to make it to be with me. The ER staff worked hard for about an hour but was not able to save her. During this time, the attending physician made time to talk to us about their efforts.I would just like to say thank you to all the people involved for their quick, thoughtful and extended efforts to help both my wife and me.
