As a parent, I do not understand why when Lima schools need to make cuts the district always starts with the teachers and the studentsí education. I feel great stress when the cuts do not start with the top and work down to the bottom. The students need a quality education with opportunities and great teachers to provide the education.

Do we need multiple administrative staff members? I do not think we do. Letís start with the fact that we have a superintendent and an assistant superintendent. Lima Senior High School has three principals and three assistant-principals. Why can't we have only one superintendent and have one principal and three assistant-principals? I would imagine thatís a large cost savings there to start. What other administration positions could be downsized?

I just think students need more choices than they are given, so letís hope the cuts are not made at the educational expense of the students. These children are our future, and they need options to grow.
