Mary Ella States



To my most precious mother who was loved by all, Mary Ella States, 83, passed away at 12:45 a.m. March 31, 2013, at the Lima Convalescent Home.



She was born on Nov. 13, 1929, in Detroit to Miller Eugene and Gladys I. Burden Burkholder, who preceded her in death. On May 21, 1949, she married Willard E. States, and he passed away on Oct. 15, 1996.



She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Art Hefner, Betty Collins, Kathryn Long and Jerry Burkholder.



Mrs. States is survived by a daughter, Carol R. Bonanno and her son-in-law, Ernest Bonanno, of Lima; her grandchildren, Kelly Newland, Carol Lee Woods and James Woods; her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Elizabeth and Landon; and her great-great-grandchildren, Haiven and a little girl on the way. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.



Mary was employed for 13 years at Wells Department Store and had worked for 20 years as the floor supervisor at the Elida Road McDonalds Restaurant. She had a lot of fun playing bingo with her friends. She greatly loved her family.



Funeral Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home. Elder Collin Deitsch will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.



Family and friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
