Dorothy A. Bowersock



Dorothy A. Bowersock, 82, died at 9:30 p.m. Feb. 5, 2012, at her residence.



She was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Duchouquet Township, Auglaize County, the daughter of Urban and Katherine Kreimas Metzger, who preceded her in death. On July 29, 1950, she married Harvey J. Bowersock, and he died Oct. 18, 2010.



Other survivors include, eight children, Kathy Tatro, of Lakeside, Calif., Richard (Danita) Bowersock, of Rifle, Colo., Dr. Terry (Rose) Bowersock, of Lawton, Mich., Jim (Jane) Bowersock, of Wapakoneta, Lanette (Tom) Norman, of Russells Point, Paul (Debbie) Bowersock, of Wilder, Ky., Todd (Lisa) Bowersock, of Richmond, Ind., and Kay Wilges, of Cridersville; and 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren,



She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Greg Wilges; a great-grandchild, Natasha Bowersock; two sisters, Calista Lotridge and Barbara Webb; and two brothers Norbert and Robert Metzger.



A bookkeeper, Mrs. Bowersock had worked for Landmark, Uniopolis, and later had worked as an in home care aide. She was a member of the Wapakoneta Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed making crafts, quilting, needle point and making Christmas gifts for the entire family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.



Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wapakoneta Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Stephen Smitley will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.



The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, state Route 501, Wapakoneta, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.



Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Community Health Professionals.
