Dorothy L. Moffett, 91, of Marion, formerly of Lima, died at 10:10 a.m. Dec. 29, 2009, at Kingston Residence of Marion.
She was born Sept. 15, 1918, in Alger to Warren B. and Lucy Dempster Ramsdell, who preceded her in death. On April 13, 1941, she married Brice S. Moffett, who died Sept. 10, 1967.
Mrs. Moffett was a member of Prospect Street United Methodist Church, Marion. She was a 1936 graduate of Alger High School, where she was the valedictorian, and a 1940 graduate of Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. In 1966, she received certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner from Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati. She retired in 1990 from nursing and went to work in real estate. She had been a member of PEO Lima Chapter and transferred to the Marion chapter. She was a member of the State of Ohio Nurses Association and the Allen County Diabetes League, where she had served as president.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Roger) Williams, of Marion, and Nancy (Ken) Badertscher, of Annapolis, Md.; a sister-in-law, Ann Ramsdell, of Lima; five grandchildren, Eric (Nancy E.) Badertscher, Alex Badertscher, Shawn (Amanda) Williams, Megan Bock and Chad Williams; and eight great-grandchildren, Sarah Badertscher, Darby Bock, Abby Bock, Theodore John Bock, Blaine Williams, Alexa Williams, Brooke Williams and Jackson Williams.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Jim Ramsdell; a sister, Betty Berry; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Ramsdell.
Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. The Rev. Joe Miller will officiate.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Eastside Chapel.
