Virgie Golden

LimaVirgie Golden, 67, died May 11, 2012, in the emergency room of Lima Memorial Health System.She was born July 28, 1944, in Salyersville, Ky., to Edgar and Alkie Cole Gibson, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 16, 1979, she married Toby Golden, who survives in Lima.Mrs. Golden had worked at Shawnee Manor, Lima Convalescent Home, and Blue Bells in Columbia City, Ind. She had been a foster mother for 14 years.Survivors also include 12 children, Alane (Harold) Golden, of Lima, Charlene (Mike) Otto, of Columbus Grove, Mallissa (Alfred) Smith, of Beattyville, Ky., Paula (Mike) Eilerman, Dianna Joe (Holmes) Gipson, Darold (Jennifer) Golden, Kristopher Mills, Joey Golden, and Bobby Golden, all of Lima, Danny Mills, of Cleveland, and Roger Golden and David Golden, both of Lima; 102 foster sons, 23 brothers and sisters, 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald and Timothy Gipson; and three grandchildren, Chasity Gilbert, Shelby Lynn Smith and Virgie Lynn Boedecker.Services will begin at noon Tuesday at Lima Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Terry Brock will officiate.
