LimaNorma E. Githens, 95, died at 11:25 p.m. Feb. 23, 2011, at Lima Memorial Health System.She was born June 12, 1915, in Auglaize County to Cloyd W. and Blanche Bickel Bowsher. On May 31, 1934, she married Cloyd W. Githens, who died Oct. 2, 1983.Mrs. Githens was a homemaker and had worked at Greggs, Leader and Youth Town Department Stores. She had also been employed by Allen County Children's Home. She was a member of Lima Baptist Temple and its Adult Bible Class and Golden Years Club. She was a life member of Lima Memorial Hospital Volunteers. She enjoyed spending time with family.Survivors include a daughter, Dolores (Don) Schultz, of Lima; a daughter-in-law, Carol Manion, of Florence, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Carl) Pugin, Lori Clark and Ron Githens; two stepgrandchildren, Christina (Phil) Trout and Tim (Kathy) Schulz; two great-grandchildren, Natalie Pugin and Alison Pugin; and six stepgreat-grandchildren, 11 stepgreat-great-grandchildren, a stepgreat-great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a son, C. Leslie Githens; three brothers, Orville, Farold, and Carl Bowsher; four sisters, Vera Bowsher, Vondail Steele, Berniece Grigsby and Mary Elizabeth Bowsher; and a stepgrandson, Alan Schultz.Services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Ronald B. Cannon will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery in Lima.Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
