Timothy E. Fortman, 66, died at 5:35 p.m. April 17, 2013, at Kindred Hospital, Lima.
He was born May 27, 1946, in Lima to Elmer and Alice Odenweller Fortman. His mother is deceased and his father survives in The Meadows of Kalida. On Sept. 27, 1969, he married Linda Gerdeman, who survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving is a daughter, Katie Fortman, of Dayton; a brother, Robert (Nancy) Fortman, of Findlay; three sisters, Marcia (Roger) Lammers, of Ottawa, Barbara (Keith) Hall, of Dayton, and Mary Jo (Dan) Bockrath, of Glandorf; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Tim retired after more than 35 years at Fortman’s Body Repair, Ottawa. He was a 1964 graduate of Ottawa High School. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, the Loyal Order of Moose, Port Clinton , and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ottawa. Tim loved going to his cottage at Lake Erie and visiting Put-in-Bay. He enjoyed fishing and Monday night poker.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. Father Matt Jozefiak will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where there will be a Scripture service at 2:30 p.m.
