Charles “Chuck” Bardo, 80, died at 4:45 p.m. April 29, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 17, 1932, in Delphos to Nick and Marcile Herring Bardo, who preceded him in death. On June 7, 1957, he married Billie “Skip” Teman, who survives in Delphos.

Mr. Bardo retired from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant after more than 37 years. He also retired as a greeter and funeral attendant from Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, after 20 years of dedicated service. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed his family and grandchildren, racing, hunting, fishing and collecting guns.

Survivors also include two daughters, Melanie (Larry) Morris, of Delphos, and Elaine (David) Trentman, of Landeck; a sister, Betty Kimmett, of Delphos; three grandchildren, Nikki (Brad) Klaus, Lindy (Nick) Menke and Bradley Trentman; three great-grandchildren, Kyla and Karsyn Klaus and Tyra Trentman; and a special nephew, Terry Wisher.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Brenda Lee Bardo; a grandson, Ryan Charles Trentman; a brother, Carl Gene Bardo; and a sister, Mona Lou Wisher.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. The Rev. David Howell will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos, with military rites by the Delphos Veterans Council.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
