Donald C. “Butch” Hullinger Jr., 51, passed away at 11:05 a.m. March 11, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Jan. 29, 1962, in Lima to Donald C. and Shirley A. Kindred Hullinger Sr., who survive in Lima. His fiancée, Anita Ross, survives in Lima.
Donald attended Lima Central Catholic High School. He enjoyed nature and the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Denver Broncos. Donald fought a courageous battle with cancer for four years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors also include a son, Brandon (Rebecca Cramer) Johns, of Lima; a daughter, Ashley (Mia) Schneider, of Lima; a stepdaughter, Kjaristy Johns, of Lima; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; a brother, Billy (Susan Raines) Hullinger, of Cridersville; two sisters, Shelly (Tim) Werling, of Lima, and Tina (Paul) Pierson III, of Ada; two nieces, Kayla and Cece; two nephews, T.J. and Kory; and a great-nephew, Cameron.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Father Michael Houston will officiate. Entombment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery Mausoleum, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 .
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
