LIMA — Roy Clay Hatton Jr., 64, of Wauseon, formerly of Lima, died at 1 p.m. July 25, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
He was born June 28, 1949, in Lexington, Ky., the son of Roy Clay Hatton Sr. and Pauline Ruth Cochran Hatton, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his fianceé Pat H. Pieper, of Wauseon.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed bird watching, stamp collecting, fishing, wrestling, football, NASCAR and spending time with his dog Buddy.
Left to cherish his memory are a daughter, Holli R. (Steven Butler) Hatton; two brothers, Tommy R. (Deborah) Hatton, of Lima, and Michael L. (Rikki) Hatton, of Spencerville; four sisters, Joyce M. (Ted) Wildermuth, of Michigan, Phyllis K. Hatton, of Lima, Sharon F. (James) Holliday, of Florida, and Anna M. (Bob) Leach, of Lima; a grandson, Steven J. Butler; and many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. Hatton; a daughter, Amanda B. Hatton; and a brother-in-law, Clifford Swartz.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. August 17, at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, 124 E. Elm St., Lima, with military rites at 1 p.m. by VFW Post 1275. Chaplain Dick Coon will officiate.
