WAPAKONETA


Emily Ann Saam 17, died at 12:50 p.m. July 11, 2013, from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident at state Route 501 and Linzee Road.


She was born June 3, 1996, in Lima to Alex E. (Kelley) Saam Jr. and Jennifer E. (John Ickes) Rhodes , who survive Wapakoneta .


Survivors also include a brother and four sisters, Alexandria Adams, Harlie Ickes, and Madison, Drew, and Lindsey Saam; grandparents, Vera Potter, of Lima, Richard and Joann Rhodes, of Alger, Chuck and Kim Quick, of Wapakoneta, Alex Sr. and Mary Ann Saam, of Cridersville, and Neal and Connie Brincefield, of Wapakoneta; and numerous aunt, uncles and cousins.


Emily had just finished her sophomore year at Wapakoneta Senior High and was planning on attending Apollo Career Center this fall to pursue a medical career towards being a marine biologist. She was also going into her 12th year of dancing, of which she especially loved tap dancing. She really enjoyed reading, horses and sharks. She was employed at Bob Evans,Wapakoneta, where she worked as a greeter. She will always be remembered as being a big sister to her brothers and sisters, whom she loved unconditionally.


Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Steven Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.


Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Wapakoneta High School Flag Corps in, of which she was member.
