Daryl L. Amstutz, 85, died at 2:20 a.m. April 26, 2013, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
He was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Orange Township/Bluffton to the late Samuel F. and Carrie Z. Ewing Amstutz. On July 1, 1945, he married Eileen M. Steiner, and she survives.
Daryl retired as an inspector from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant. He was a member of Pandora United Methodist Church. He was a “Red Coat” at The Ohio State University. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns, the OSU Buckeyes and the Pandora-Gilboa Rockets. He was a graduate of Mount Cory High School.
Survivors also include two sons, Ronald D. (Patty) Amstutz, of Columbus Grove; Kenneth (Christine) Amstutz, of Van Wert; a daughter Dianne (Larry) Wendt, of Napoleon; and 10 grandchildren and 11great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Russell and Morris Amstutz; three sisters, Wava Bixel, Ruby Amstutz and Doris Settlemeyer; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Amstutz, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Pandora United Methodist Church, Pandora. The Rev. Duane Kemerley will officiate. Burial will be in Harman Cemetery, near Gilboa.
Friends and family may call Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pandora United Methodist Church, Bluffton Senior Citizens Center or the charity of the donor’s choice.
