Rometa G. Blankenship, 74, died at 1 p.m. June 27, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born Feb. 25, 1939, in Neola, W.Va., to Wyatt Hull and Glee Watson Hull Trainer, who preceded her in death. On June 1, 1957, she married Ernest Blankenship, who survives.
Mrs. Blankenship attended Southeast Church of Christ. She was a graduate of White Sulphur Springs High School in West Virginia. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to country and gospel music. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Survivors also include three children, David Blankenship, of Lima, Pamela (Randy) Bowers, of Lafayette, and Duane (Debi) Blankenship, of Elida; five grandchildren, Christie (Bill) Howard, of Lima, Tony Bowers, of Lafayette, Ashley Blankenship and Amber Blankenship, both of Lima, and Blaine Blankenship, of Lafayette; two stepgranddaughters, Abigail and Sierra Fromm; three sisters, Faye VanBuren, Bonnie Rider and Cindy Sabota, all of West Virginia; three brothers, Gordon Hull, of Virginia, Bob Hull, of Pennsylvania, and Roger Trainer, of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Robert Trainer; two brothers, Bill Hull and Butch Trainer; three sisters, Jeannie Hull, Sharon Hull and Omagale Hull; and a daughter, Janet Lynn Blankenship.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel. Arnold Wright and Arthur Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
