CRIDERSVILLE — Richard A. Wagner, 72, died at 4:59 a.m. June 11, 2013, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born June 10, 1941, in Lima to Randal R. and Eunice E. Gattshall Wagner Sr. Both parents preceded him in death. On Nov. 28, 1963, Richard married Phyllis J. Walter, who survives in Cridersville.
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691, Wapakoneta. Richard was a former hair and make-up specialist for the Amil Teller Theater, and a member of the National Rifle Association. He had been a manager at J.C. Penney Hair Salon and former owner of Mr. Richard Hair Salon and Poor Richard’s Styling Salon.
Survivors include a son, Randy (Joni) Wagner, of Loveland; a daughter, Sara J. Wagner-Miller, of Wapakoneta; a brother, Verlin “Tony” (Ruth) Wagner, of Bloomdale; five grandchildren, Jacob L. Miller, Zachary A. Miller, Danielle K. Miller, Taylor Wagner and Andrew “A.J.” Wagner; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Don (Evelyn) Wagner and Randal R. (Cletus) Wagner Sr.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg. Father Oscar Seger will officiate.
