BLUFFTON — Bill H. Cockrell, 59, of Waxhaw, NC, died the morning of July 19, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, son of Moses Harold Cockrell and Thelma S. Cockrell. Bill was a 1972 graduate of Bluffton High School in Bluffton, Ohio and had worked with Bell South. He was a gifted pianist who had never taken a lesson.
A private service will be held by his family.
Bill is survived by his partner of 19 years, Eric Spittle of Waxhaw, NC; his parents: Moses and Thelma Cockrell; five sisters and two brothers: Kathy Hall, Della Starcher and husband Tom, Deb Blackburn and husband, Jerry, Penny Cheney and husband, Kenny, Rae Teall and husband Dave; Neil Cockrell and Eddie Kerskner; Eric’s parents: William “Spin” Spittle and Linda “Red” Spittle and Bill’s two pekingese daughters: Lucy and Blossom.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care and Presbyterian Hospice for the exceptional care given to Bill.
