Ina Jean “Jeanie” Grigsby, 80, formerly of Spencerville, died at 9:05 a.m. April 24, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, with her children by her side.
She was born April 3, 1933, in Kenton to Joe and Marie Angelina Crisp, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 8, 1951, she married Oscar Grigsby, who died Jan. 5, 1974. She later married Larry Crouch, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Grigsby was a homemaker, who loved her precious dog, Cherokee, and her daughter’s six grand-pups. She also enjoyed playing bingo and the lottery, coffee, cooking, gardening her beautiful flowers, hillbilly dancing, Burma bulls and wrestling. She has now gone to be with her Lord.
Survivors include her beloved adopted children, Penny L. Grigsby, whom she lived with and was her caregiver, Tina M. Grigsby Ross and John L. (Tina) Grigsby, all of Lima; seven grandchildren, Robert, Scott and Christina Wilkins, David Burris Jr., Jeanie Ross, Jerimiah Ross and Johnathon Grigsby; five great-grandchildren, Chase Foust, Korbin Adams, Tyler and Cole Wilkins and Tiffanie Knott; a great-great-grandchild, Reighley; three siblings, Raelene (John) McCoy, of Harrod, Lonnie (Lisa) Benjamin and Ralph Benjamin, both of Lima; two half sisters, Bonnie and Lois Benjamin; and a half brother, Bill Benjamin.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph T. “Joey” Grigsby, who died in 1983; a sister, Opal Woodruff; and a brother, William Benjamin.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. Pastor Jim Neighbors will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
