Marilyn R. Giesige, 65, died at 9:42 a.m. April 20, 2013, at her residence.
She was born June 25, 1947, in Napoleon to Earl V. and Ruth M. Lauer Giesige. Her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives in Ottawa.
Miss Giesige was a 1965 graduate of Hamler High school and attended Fort Wayne Business College, Fort Wayne, Ind. She worked in accounting at Sylvania, Ottawa, and then became the human resources supervisor. She retired in 1987 from Sylvania after 21 years. She then focused on her true passion by joining Youth with a Mission. She assisted them with her secretarial and business skills and enjoyed the opportunity to witness to the youth. She was a member of Restoration Temple and was dedicated to her neighborhood and its children. She loved to spread Godís word by witnessing and teaching the Kingdom Kids Group at her church. She was also a mentor at Lima public schools. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes football.
Survivors also include two brothers, Don (Joyce) Giesige, of Ottawa, and Tim (Sharon) Giesige, of Clyde; three sisters, Deb (Jack) Myers and Pam Giesige, both of Ottawa, and Chris (Greg) Barlage, of Richmond, Va.; 18 nieces and nephews; and 26 great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry R. Giesige.
Services will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Gene Salsbury will officiate.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
