LIMA — Saranne Pemberton Cheuvront, 84, went to be with the Lord Jesus Nov. 11, 2012, at 5:30 a.m. at the Lima Convalescent Home.
She was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Cabell County, W.Va., to the late Creighton Henry and Rosalind Hoff Pemberton. On Oct. 15, 1948, she married Charles V. Cheuvront, who died July 13, 2002.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Creighton Henry Pemberton.
Survivors include a son, Charles (Carole) Cheuvront; three daughters, Melissa (Paul) Busick, Elizabeth (Don) Jarvis and Joyce (Don) Gentry; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob (Sanjana) and Justin (Bethany) Cheuvront, Sara (Alan) Dawes, Paul N. Busick, Kristina (Mike) Hawk, and Shannon Jarvis; 7 seven stepgrandchildren, Karen Seaman, Rebecca Cox, Shannon, Bruce, Paul, Christopher, and Jason Fricke; eight great-grandchildren, Anjali Cheuvront, Victoria, Wesley, Xavier and Zoe Dawes, and Ashley, Whitney and Jacob Hawk.
Mrs. Cheuvront loved music and served the Lord in various capacities. She served as organist and pianist in many area churches since 1956, including St. Paul AME Church and Sharon Park United Methodist Church. She played piano at Highlawn Presbyterian Church, Huntington, W.Va., at the age of 8. In addition, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, Girl Scout leader, member of Sweet Adelines and the “Mis L Tones Quartet”, piano teacher, past president in the Lima PTA at Lincoln School, charter member of the Great Black Swamp Dulcimer group, child evangelism, and Monica Steven’s Singers. Saranne also worked various jobs throughout her life.
Saranne has donated her body to the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University, Fairborn.
Memorial celebration services will begin 11:30 a.m. November 24th, at New Life Christian Ministries, 202 W. Kibby Street, Lima. Pastor Edward Tibbs will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Jon Spyker.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Hospice or The Gideons.
