LIMA — Taft Farmer Jr., 76, of Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Lima, died at 5:35 p.m. April 19, 2013.
He was born in Cardinal, Ky., on Nov. 4, 1936, to Taft Sr. and Margaret Suggs Farmer, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Farmer retired from the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant. He was a member of the United Auto Workers union and served in the U.S. Army. He had ties to Lima Missionary Baptist Church. He loved to travel in his motor home with his little dog, Pork Chop. They made numerous friends wherever they traveled.
Survivors include three sons, Michael (Jenny) Farmer and Taft (Cindy) Farmer III, both of Prescott, Ariz., and Steve (Tracy) Farmer, of Lima; a daughter, Pamela (Bob) Hadding, of Lima; a brother, Larry (Jane) Farmer, of Northport, Fla.; a sister, Etta (Mike) Woessner, of Lima; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Louise and Tina Wilder, of Cubbage, Ky.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Lee Farmer; a grandson, Cliff Hadding; a granddaughter, Kristen Hill; a sister, Shirley Campbell; and a special grandmother, Rebecca Farmer Green.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. May 2 at Lima Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Terry Brock, the Rev. Denny Hunter and the Rev. Tab Hunter will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. May 1 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, and from noon to 1 p.m. May 2 at the church.
