C. Gerald “Curly” Clum, 82, of Greenville, formerly of Ada, died at 4:31 p.m. Oct. 1, 2010, at Wayne Hospital in Greenville.



He was born Sept. 8, 1928, in rural Ada to Jesse Earl and Jennie Belle Diltz Clum, who preceded him in death. He married Marjorie McElwain, who survives in Greenville.



Mr. Clum worked as the manager of West Side Elevator in Greenville for 32 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he served on many committees. He loved sports and fishing at Blossom Lake. He especially loved his grandchildren and never missed one of their sporting events.



Survivors also include five children, Sara Beth Cutarelli, of Greenville, Scott (Jane) Clum, of Greenville, Spencer (Patty) Clum, of Spencerville, Amy (Jim) Hanes, of Union City, and Brian (Pamela) Clum, of Union City; 15 grandchildren, Tim (Pamela) Cutarelli, Aaron (Deena) Cutarelli, Beth (Roddy) Guest, Ruth (Troy) Mendenhall, Paul (Cammie) Clum, Jesse Clum, Jacob (Jonelle) Clum, Rachel (Chris) Massie, Zac Clum, Joshua (Nicia) Hanes, Joe (Mary) Hanes, Jennie (Chris) Merry, Jamy Hanes, Rebecca (Brant) Watson, and Richard Clum; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Clum, of Ada; a brother-in-law, Alan (Judy) McElwain, of Meadville, Pa.; five nieces and nephews, Andy McElwain, Adam McElwain, Katy Sutherland, Peter McElwain, and Ann Marie Oestereich; and numerous other nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Laura Clum; and four brothers and sisters, Connie Leiber, Lester Clum, Vivian Miller, and Ross Clum.



Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 131 E. Fourth St., Greenville. Pastor Peter Menke will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery, Greenville.



Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
