June Elaine Edwards Woodfork, 68, died at 8 a.m. May 5, 2013, at her residence.
She was born June 27, 1944, in Massillon to Ernest and Mary Jane White Edwards, who preceded her in death. Her close companion for several years, LeVolia Fuqua, survives in Lima.
Ms. Woodfork was a homemaker and had worked security for Pinkerton in Lansing, Mich. She had a beautiful voice and sang professionally for several years. She attended Lima city schools. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors also include six brothers, Jeffory D. (Bonnie) Edwards, of Lima, Daniel (Sent’e) Stewart, of Toledo, Darius (Teresa) Edwards and Dane (Linda) Edwards, both of California, Steven Stewart, of Lima, and Robin Edwards, of Massillon; two sisters, Sharon (Gary) Lambert and Marsha D. Wheatley, both of Lima; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews; and her two beloved dogs, Noni and Star.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Jones-Clark Funeral Home. The Rev. Bruce Monford will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
