LIMARonald J. “Ron” Miller, 85, died at 3:27 p.m. June 9, 2012, at St. Rita's Medical Center.He was born Oct. 22, 1926, in Lima to James T. and Cecile Mowery Miller, who preceded him in death. On April 18, 1947, he married Emra “Jean” Lewis, who survives in Lima.Mr. Miller was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during World War II. He had worked for Airfoil Textron, retiring after 33 years. He was a life member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 and American Legion Post 96, all of Lima. He enjoyed bowling and was in the Lima Bowling Hall of Fame. He enjoyed golfing and watching any sporting event.Survivors also include a son, Ron E. (Lynn) Miller Sr., of Lima; a daughter, Cheryl “Cheri” (David) Fett, of Lima; and 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Donald James Miller; and three sisters, Helen Baughman, Mary Stewart and Dorothy Grimm.Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Dennis Kline will officiate.
