Thomas R. “Tom” Kortokrax
Thomas R. “Tom” Kortokrax, 61, died at 11:58 p.m. March 20, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 21, 1951, in Lima to Kenneth and Edna Utrup Kortokrax, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Kortokrax retired as a master boiler repairman and a licensed boiler operator from General Dynamics Tank Plant, Lima. He had also worked at Central Soya, Delphos, and Clark Equipment, Lima. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. He was a member of American Legion Post 715, Fort Jennings, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471, Delphos. He loved to travel and was an avid fan of NASCAR and baseball fan, especially fond of the Cincinnati Reds. He was an avid reader and loved to ride motorcycles.
Survivors include two sisters, Nioma (Bob) Stephan, of Piqua, and Jan (Tim) Michel, of Quincy, Mich.; two brothers, Robert (Arlene) Kortokrax, of Ottoville, and Carl (Carol) Kortokrax, of Naples, Fla.; and 19 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and James Kortokrax.
Services will begin at 7:30 p.m. today at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. Father Melvin Verhoff will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of services today at the funeral home.
