LIMA — Mary L. Baber, 97, died at 9:53 a.m. July 22, 2013, at Ross Heart Hospital, Columbus.
Mary was born July 29, 1915, in Spencerville to James Albert Miller and Martha Mary Theising Miller. Mary married Cloyd A. Baber on Aug. 7, 1943, in Tyler, Texas, where Cloyd was stationed with the Army. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1994.
She retired from Gregg’s Department Store after 40 years as a sales lady in the jewelry department. She was a member of Trinity Chapter 16 Order of Eastern Star, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 Auxiliary, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and both Euchre clubs. She was a long time member of Tamarac Golf Club, the Ladies Golf Association and Tuesday night Ladies Golf League and Wednesday A.M. Couples League.
She is survived by two nephews, Mickey (Emily) Miller, of Lima, and Michael (Judy) Miller, of Tucson, Ariz.; two nieces, Radonna Mulholland and Kathleen “Kathy” (Tom) Byrne, both of Lima; several great-nieces and great-nephews and many long time friends and wonderful neighbors.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Orville E. Miller, Arthur E. Miller, Walter L. Miller, Robert C. Miller, Melvin A. Miller and Everett I. Miller; and a sister, Eva M. Howdeshelt.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where an OES service will be held at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Chambers will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
