Gilbert Allen Sybert, 97, of Leesburg, Fla, formerly of Lima, died May 15, 2013.
He was born Nov. 5, 1915, in Putnam County.
He moved to Leesburg, Fla., in 1987, from Lima. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a tool maker for Ford Motor Co. He was a member of the Elks in Eustis, Fla., and First Baptist Church of Leesburg, in Leesburg, Fla.
He is survived by his son, Gilbert R.”Bob” (Louann) Sybert, of Lima; grandson, Robert M. (Tina) Sybert, of Hattiesburg, Miss.; granddaughter, Susan K. (Mark) Williams, of Batesville, Ind.; granddaughter-in-law, Constance Sybert, of Lima; great-grandsons, Robert “Lee” Sybert, Ross Sybert, Luke Williams and Joshua Williams; great-granddaughters, Alisha (Jesse) Wisner, Aspen Sybert, Anne Williams and Lindsey Williams; and special friend, Virginia Lindsey, of Leesburg, Fla.
He was predeceased by three wives, Mary Elizabeth Geiger, Martha “Jane” Evers and Helen Much; brother, Leland Robert Sybert; sister, Mary Flynn; and grandson, Thomas D. Sybert.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg, Fla.
A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. with military honors by the Lake County War Veterans Honor Guard.
