Genevra F. “Nev” Hunnaman Prowant

Genevra F. “Nev” Hunnaman Prowant, 72, died at 5:20 a.m. April 8, 2013, at her residence.

She was born April 9, 1940, in Waynesfield, to Jack R. and Mary E. Wells Hunnaman.

Mrs. Prowant believed in and loved her Lord Jesus Christ. She was a member of American Legion Post 96. She retired from Ex-Cell-O after more than 20 years and had also worked at the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant. She had a big heart and didn’t know a stranger. She was an excellent cook, who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will sadly miss her.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Brad) Mault and Tammi Prowant Guffey, both of Lima; eight grandchildren, Tyra Prowant Coil, Richarč Conner, Maranda (Michael) Ball II, Shelby Guffey, Dessi Conner, Levi Guffey, Dalton (Danielle) Mault and Chari Mault; five great-grandchildren, Braxton Huttis, Alexandra Mangini, Keontč Newell, Lyric Coil and Emry Mault; a goddaughter, Lynn Botkins; a brother, Nelson (Carla) Hunnaman, of Lafayette; and three sisters, Jackie Hamlin, of Lima, Beverly Newman, of Gadsden, Ala., and MaryLou (Butch) Shrider, of Harrod.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorena “Lori” Prowant, who died April 8, 1995.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel. The Rev. Terry Brock will officiate.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
