Carolyn Fay Cooper, 79, died at 9:45 a.m. May 12, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 25, 1933, in Alanzaville, Ala., to Freddie Cooper, her mother, who preceded her in death. She married Starling Boddie, who preceded her in death.
Ms. Cooper retired in 2000 as a cook from Charlie’s Restaurant, after 30 years. She enjoyed life, gardening and fishing, and loved cooking. Above all else, she loved her family.
Survivors include a son, James A. Hubbard, of Lima; two stepdaughters, Teresa (Dennis) Henry and Bonnie Boddie, both of Lima; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sybleane Cherry, of Detroit; a stepsister, Esterine Brown, of Russellville, Ala.; and a daughter-in-law, Maxine Hubbard, of Lima.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Hubbard; and two great-grandchildren, My-Oni and My-Ari.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel. Bishop James Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
