A. Dale Hunnaman, 63, died at 7:56 a.m. May 8, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 4, 1949, in Lima to Harvey “Dick” and Lois L. Bigelow Hunnaman. His father preceded him in death. His mother survives in Lima.

Mr. Hunnaman was a 1967 graduate of Elida High School. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving proudly during the Vietnam War. He was a hard worker until he became disabled. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and had been a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Van Wert. He enjoyed karate and was a black belt. He also enjoyed singing Gospel music. He will be remembered as a kind and loving son, brother, father and grandfather.

Survivors include three children, Brandon E. (Brandy L.) Hunnaman, of Van Wert, and Shelly R. (David L.) Miller and Daniel A. “Danny” Hunnaman, both of Ohio City; a brother, Rick (Kat) Hunnaman, of Lima; two sisters, Marsha (Rick) Covault, of Elida, and Tammy Hunnaman, of Lima; and six grandchildren, Bella, Sonny, Gabrielle, Seth, Olivia and Allen.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Hunnaman; and a sister, Denise Allman.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Meadowbrook Baptist Church. The Rev. James Jamison and Pastor Jim Burns will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and the Marine Corps honor guard.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday, all at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
