Belle CenterEarl W. Himmeger, 80, died May 8, 2012 at his residence.He was born Dec. 26, 1931, in Delphos to Clarence and Charlotte Whethers Himmeger, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 1, 1954, in McZena, he married Martina Mittermaier, who survives.Mr. Himmeger retired in 1995 as an office manager from Northwood Stone & Asphalt, after 35 years. He was a 1950 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School and received his bachelor's degree in 1958, from Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Delphos, and attended the First Lutheran Church, Bellefontaine. He was a family man. He had served as a clerk for Richland Township and had been a basketball official for 43 years He was a member of the Sunset League bowling team.Survivors also include two sons, Mark (Tami) Himmeger, of Bellefontaine, and Matthew (Larissa) Himmeger, of Jackson Center; a daughter, Martina Himmeger, of Belle Center; two sisters, Evelyn Wiedeman and Helen (Bill) Mullenhour, both of Delphos; a sister-in-law, Billie Jo Himmeger, of Powell; five grandchildren, Michael, Darbi, Malari, Madilyn and Meredith; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan and Lee Himmeger.Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Bellefontaine. Pastor Jonathan D. Bull will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center, with military rites by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Belle Center.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church, 422 N.
