Larry James Shaw, 63, died at 6:35 p.m. Dec. 7, 2010, at his residence.
He was born July 11, 1947, in Lima to Clarence D. and Fern M. Hinkle Shaw, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 30, 1974, he married Mary M. Sweeney, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Shaw retired in 2000 as a tow truck driver from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant. Following his retirement, he worked at Coca Cola and in the maintenance department for several doctors’ offices. He enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors also include three children, Jill (Jason) Cummings, of Wapakoneta, Tommy Melson, of St. Marys, and Tammy (Todd) Clark, of Indian Lake; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita (Jonny) Jenkins, of Kentucky, and Betty (Jason) Keifer, of Rimer; and a brother, Robert (Mattie) Shaw, of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Tom, George and Harold Shaw; and three sisters, June Mulholland, Kate Shaw and Mary Beair.
Services will begin at 5 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Eastside Chapel, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. Father David Ross will officiate.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
