Elizabeth A. Burner, 79, died at 7:42 a.m. April 24, 2013, at the Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
She was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Benton Ridge to Frederick and Georgia Bivin Hissong. On June 23, 1957, she married Dion “Bob” Burner, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 2006.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and had been a sales clerk at House of Awards of Findlay and had also been an administrative assistant at Garwood of Findlay. She was a member of Benton Ridge Calvary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed polka dancing, dining out and most of all, her grandchildren. She graduated from Liberty Benton High School and Tiffin University.
Survivors include three sons, Mike (Jennifer) Burner, of Bluffton, Greg (Kelly) Burner, of Los Angeles, and Scott (Holly) Burner of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Zachary, Erin, Katherine and Emma Burner, Ethan, Olivia, Mackaid and Cooper Burner, and Georgia and Aden Burner; and two brothers, Fred (Patty) Hissong Jr., of Alexandria, Va., and David (Betty) Hissong, of Mansfield.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremations Services, Bluffton. Pastor Bryant Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Benton Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hilty Memorial Home or the American Alzheimer’s Association.
