Lima - Nicholas A. Dunlap, 16, died at 12 a.m. Dec. 18, 2010, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

He was born June 21, 1994, in Lima to Rob A. Dunlap and Karen Dunlap. His father and stepmother, Brenda Dunlap, survive in Lima. His mother also survives in Lima.

Nicholas was a sophomore at Shawnee High School. He enjoyed spending time with friends, listening to music and playing his Xbox. He also enjoyed hunting, playing paintball and riding four-wheelers.

Survivors also include, a sister, Shannon M. Dunlap, of Lima; four stepsisters, Tiffany (Joe) Pitter, of Dayton, and Amanda Adams, Taylor Adams and Ashley Adams, all of Lima; a stepbrother, Nick W. Compton, of Lima; maternal great-grandmother, Wanda Chaffins, of Garrett, Ky.; maternal grandmother, Linda Chaffins; paternal grandparents, Larry and Cheryl Dunlap; a nephew, Kayden Dunlap, of Lima; two uncles, Scott A. Chaffins and Darin L. Dunlap; an aunt, Sheila Cross, of Lima; and his close friend, Jessey Daley, of Lima.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Dewey L. Chaffins; and an uncle, Lonnie L. Chaffins.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lima Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Terry Brock will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Mennonite Cemetery, Elida.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
