LimaSue Ellen Cheaney Tucker, 84, died at 1:03 a.m. June 8, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.She was born Sept. 2, 1927, in Henderson, Ky., to Stephen and Nannie Miller Cheaney, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 1, 1946, she married Clifton L. Tucker, who died July 4, 1994.Mrs. Tucker graduated fromDouglas High School in Henderson, Ky., and attended Kentucky State University. She had worked for United Telephone Co. as an operator, retiring in 1979. Later, she took a position with the Wahlie family (Conn West Trucking) for 12 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Cornerstone Harvest Church and she had previously belonged to Fourth Street Baptist Church, New Hope Christian Center, Christ Temple Church and Grace World Wide Ministries. She was a former member of Women’s Aglow. She loved leading people to the Lord, biblical studies, and listening to gospel music.Survivors include a three children, Dianne Ricks, of Lima, Donald L. (Joanette) Tucker, of East Point, Ga., and Francine S. Russell, of Lima; a brother, Charles Yates, of Everett, Wash.; and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by three brothers, Dr. H.E. Cheaney, John T. Cheaney and Clarence Cheaney; two sisters, Dorothy Saucier and Bobette Agnew; and a son, Darrell D. Tucker.Services will begin at noon Thursday at Cornerstone Harvest Church. The Rev. David Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at the church.Arrangements are by Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Service.Condolences may be expressed at chiles-lamanfh.com.
