Ada Shepherd, 85, died at 2:20 p.m. Oct. 9, 2010, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.



She was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Waldo, Ky., to William and Susanne Oliver Campbell. On April 17, 1946, she married Wilkie Shepherd, who died Oct. 11, 2005.



Mrs. Shepherd and her husband pastored in the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church for 30 years. She also worked at Essex Wire in Kenton for 10 years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church. She will be sadly missed by her children and grandchildren, whom she adored. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her many flowers, but especially was devoted to her family and church. She will be forever missed.



Survivors include three sons, Gary (Toni) Shepherd, of Waynesfield, Larry (Angie) Shepherd, of Huntertown, Ind., and David (Judy) Shepherd, of Payne; a daughter, Margie (Roger) Hites, of Belle Center; 17 grandchildren, Curtis, Shawn and Jeremy Shepherd, Anita Correll, Bret Shepherd, April Hites, Shane Hites, Holly Hunsicker, Mark, Dan, Aaron and Chris Shepherd, Joe and Mike Mowery, Kelly Campbell, Lori Damron and Amy Campbell; 34 beloved great-grandchildren, and a sister, Rosie Wireman, of Michigan.



She was preceded in death by two sons, James Edwin and Johnny; a daughter, Charlotte; a granddaughter, Amanda; two brothers, Newt and Sammy; and four sisters, Sarah, Mary, Sylvania and Ethel.



Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pentecostal Tabernacle Church south of Alger. The Rev. Eugene Haney will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview McDonald Cemetery.



Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Price Funeral Home, Kenton.
