Mary Ann "Mac" Clifford, 81, died at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 15, 2007, at Lima Convalescent Home.
She was born April 26, 1926, in Lima to Frank X. and Mary Ellen Shanahan Clifford, who preceded her in death.
Miss Clifford retired in 1991 as a registered nurse from St. Rita's Medical Center, where she opened its first intensive care unit and was manager for 25 years. She had also worked a year at St. John's Hospital, Santa Monica, Calif. She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. She was a graduate of St. Gerard School and a 1947 graduate of St. Rita's School of Nursing.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy "Jean" (George) Sheeter, of Ormand Beach, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Wilma Clifford, of Lima; three nephews, Daniel (Teresa) Clifford, of Lima, and Michael Sheeter and Tommy Sheeter, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; and four nieces, Kelly Clifford, of Lima, Dawn Clifford, of Long Island, N.Y., Chris (Hank) Walker, of Gambier, and Kim Sheeter, of Ormand Beach, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel M. Clifford.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Father George Blasick will officiate. Interment will be in the Gethsemani Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel.
