Cindy Johns, 54, died at 9:12 a.m. July 5, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 21, 1959, in Bluffton to Dr. Wayne A. and Betty J. Key Lutz. Her mother survives. On Sept. 21, 1984, she married Michael L. Johns, who survives.
Mrs. Johns was a 1977 graduate of Elida High School. She then received her accounting degree from Lima Technical College. After college, she took a bookkeeping position with Met Bank in Lima until she quit to raise and home school her children. Once her children were raised, she started her own business, which was an artistic design greeting card company called “I Love Cuttables” with worldwide sales. She volunteered with the Johnny Appleseed Park District and its 4-H program. She loved the outdoors and caring for flowers in her yard. She was a devoted wife and mother and was extremely proud of her children. She will always be remembered as having a wonderful smile and always enjoyed a good laugh.
Survivors also include a son, Milo L. Johns, of Columbus; a daughter, Megan L. Johns, of Pittsburgh, a brother, Timothy (Susan) Lutz, of Lima; a sister, Jennifer (Scott) Koenig, of Lima.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary W. Lutz.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation, Lima. The Rev. Mary Ann Tomlinson will officiate. Her cremated remains will be buried at a later date.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
