DelphosPaul H. Feathers Sr., 73, died at 3:40 p.m. May 3, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.He was born Aug. 17, 1938, in Van Wert County to Floyd L. and Ethel C. Martin Feathers, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 12, 1961, he married Barbara Ellerbrock, who survives.Mr. Feathers retired from Philips, Ottawa, after 42 years. He was a six-year veteran of the National Guard. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3035, American Legion Post 268 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471, all in Delphos. He was also a member of the Delphos Coon Hunters, the Black Swamp Gun Club and the Van Wert Gun Club. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association. He had donated 28 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross. He enjoyed scuba diving, flying, skydiving, fishing, hunting and shooting trap. He loved his family and his best friend, his dog Max, who went everywhere with him. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.Survivors also include a son, Paul (Kathy) Feathers Jr., of Delphos; a daughter, Michele (Scott) Dellinger, of Delphos; a sister, Norma J. Feathers Violet, of Delphos; a brother, Fred (Wanda) Feathers, of Spencerville; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Nolan Feathers and Holly and Tyler Dellinger; two stepgrandchildren, Krista (Chad) Schrader and Trista Dellinger; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaden and Kendall Schrader.He was preceded in death by a brother, William Feathers; and a sister-in-law, Lorene Feathers.A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Pastor David Howell will officiate. There will be no visitation.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the American Cancer Society.Arrangements are by Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos.
