Leona L. Holloway, 78, died at 12:28 a.m. May 15, 2013, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 13, 1934, in Delphos to Clyde E. and Elsie I. Miller Clark, who preceded her in death. On April 25, 1957, she married Laymon G. “Junior” Holloway, who died March, 30, 2012.
Mrs. Holloway was a graduate of Continental High School, Continental. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 Auxiliary. She and her husband wintered in McIntosh, Fla., for 18 years, where she was a member of Orange Lake Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Citra. She loved being in McIntosh, which was a quaint little Victorian town, where she loved to socialize and take trips to the flea markets. She enjoyed cooking and tending to her garden, taking special care of her roses. She will be remembered for her love of reading, shopping and spending time with family and friends. She was fiercely devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Charles David (Kim) Holloway, of Lima; a daughter, Debra Sue (Steve) Cleaves, of Fort Jennings; four grandchildren, Bret S. Holloway, Shane M. Holloway, Morgan E. Holloway and Nicholas E. Huffman; a brother, Dallas (Nelly) Clark, of Vieques, Puerto Rico; two sisters, Sally Selvaggio, of Lima, and Carol (Timothy) Keane, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and a niece and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by two nephews.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Rob White will officiate. Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
