COLUMBUS GROVE ‚?? Ida Mae ‚??Daisy‚?Ě Halker, 86, died at 4:05 a.m. July 15, 2013, at The Meadows of Kalida, Kalida.
She was born May 28, 1927, in Leipsic to Thomas S. Croy and Ruth M. Hazelton, who preceded her in death. On May 20, 1947, she married James J. Halker, who died April 13, 2008.
Mrs. Halker was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary and CLC, both of the church, Columbus Grove. She retired from the Columbus Grove School System. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Daisy enjoyed her family, spending time with her grandchildren, flower grooming, polka dancing, playing cards and watching the Cleveland Indians.
Survivors include seven sons, James (Diana) Halker, of Ottawa, Dennis (Janelda) Halker, of Leipsic, Gary (Lisa) Halker, of Burnsville, N.C., Mike (Pam) Halker, of Columbus Grove, Greg (Shirley) Halker, of Ostrander, Mark (Cindy) Halker, of Columbus Grove, and Rick Halker, of Columbus Grove; two daughters, Linda (Jeff) Glorioso, of Lima, and Pam (Ron) Keysor, of Delphos; a sister-in-law, Harriett ‚??Babe‚?Ě Croy, of Ottawa, 32 grandchildren; and 67 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Sneary; two brothers, Audrey (Donna) Croy and Thomas Harold Croy; a sister-in-law, Bev Croy; a daughter in-law, Sherry Halker; a great granddaughter, Mariah Halker; and a great grandson, Joshua Gayonski.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. Father Tom Extejt and Father Tony Fortman will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, with a Rosary service by CLC of St. Anthony Church at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony School Endowment Fund.
