Helen L. Hover, 86, died at 2:45 p.m. Nov. 8, 2012, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville, following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 8, 1926, in Bluffton to Charles Calvin and Lillie Carma Walters Burkholder, who preceded her in death. On June 24, 1942, she married Waldo Richard “Shorty” Hover, who died Aug. 1, 1999.
Mrs. Hover was a homemaker. She was a member of Spencerville Church of the Nazarene, Spencerville. She enjoyed making ceramics, reading and miniature doll houses she made with her husband.
Survivors include four children, Larry L. (Diana) Hover, of Pasadina, Texas, Gregory A. (Cheryl) Hover, of Spencerville, Marlene K. (John) Prenzlin, of Fostoria, and Carol D. (Philip) Endicott, of Lima; 13 grandchildren, Melissa (Jesse) Alonzo, of Pasadina, Texas, Aundrea (Rick) Good, of New Bremen, Richie Prenzlin, of Fostoria, Stephanie Prenzlin, of Marietta, Ga., Jeremi (Shelly) Hover, of Fredericktown, Nicole (Mark) Mason, of Pasadina, Texas, Gregory (Jessica) Prenzlin, of Rising Sun, Benjamin (Rachel) Hover, of Lansdowne, Pa., Christopher (Michelle) Endicott, of Penfield, Pa., Joshua (Nikki) Endicott, of Wapakoneta, Nandry (Dustin) Smith, of Miamisburg, Janelle (Jeremy) Ward, of Wapakoneta, and Amanda (Hugo) Polito Bustamante, of Lima; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanette Beach, of Beaverdam.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Victory.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Tim Benjamin will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and noon until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
