Sarah Jane Parsons, 25, went home to be with the Lord at 4:45 a.m. May 20, 2013, at her residence.
She was born July 3, 1987, in Lima to Thomas and Mary L. Desenberg Kanode, and they survive. Her father, Thomas resides with her stepmom, Susan in Dublin, Ohio, and her mother, Mary survives with her husband, Claire Grismore. On Feb. 16, 2008, she married Randall Lee Parsons III, and he survives her.
Sarah was a wonderful mother to her children, Lauren Catherine Kanode, Randall Lee Parsons IV and Lyndsay Jane Parsons, all at home. Her children were the loves of her life. She is also survived by her siblings, Rachel Grismore, of Ottawa, Heidi C. (Joseph) Slover, of Hilliard, Arienne (Darrell) Chamblin, of Columbus, and Deidre (Frank) Cash, of Lima; her in-laws, Marsha and Randall Lee Parsons II, of Cairo; a brother-in-law, Scott (Holly) Parsons, of Wapakoneta; a sister-in-law, Stephanie N. Parsons, of Cairo; and her maternal grandmother, Mary C. Desenberg, of Elida. She also leaves many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who adore her and will miss her tremendously.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Howell and Margaret Kanode; and her maternal grandfather, Don Desenberg.
Sarah was very proud of the fact that she was a stay at home mom, referring to herself as a “domestic engineer.” She was a 2005 graduate of Columbus Grove High School, and was an active member of the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Kenny Waldroup will officiate. Burial will be in Cairo East Cemetery, Cairo.
