DELPHOS — Rita D. Sever, 92, died at 8:10 a.m. Jan. 11, 2013, at Roselawn Manor, Spencerville.

She was born June 9, 1920, in Delphos to John and Viola Lang Kill, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 31, 1941, she married Oliver J. Sever, who died July 20, 2010.

Mrs. Sever worked for Delphos St. John’s Catholic School as its secretary and a lunch server for 22 years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, bingo and needlework and loved to converse with people.

Survivors include three sons, Mark J. Sever and Carl F. Sever, both of Fort Collins, Colo., and Oliver J. “Joe” (Kathy) Jr., of Grove City; four daughters, Bernadette “Penny” (Benjamin) Chinni, of Cleveland, Rosemary C. Koval, of Annandale, Va., Janet K. (James) Singleton, of Wadsworth, and Laurel “Laurie” (Sam) Kill, of Spencerville; 17 grandchildren, Mark Jr., Andrew, Christine, Jason, Adrienne, Jennifer, Autumn, Devin, Stephanie, Nathan, Ryan, Aaron, Adam, Michael, Vanessa, Emily and Matthew; and 11 great-grandchildren, Brian, Timothy, Aidan, Ashleigh, Anthony, Alexander, Delaney, Kennedy Adelaide, David and Ty.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Angela L. Kill and Sister Mary Roberta Kill; and four brothers, Norbert Kill, Bernard “Ben” Kill, Paul “Pidge” Kill and John Kill.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Rev. Melvin Verhoff will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, where a parish wake will begin at 7:30 p.m.
